      The Story of Now (Filming workshop)

      Al Rashid Mosque is pleased to interduce a video production and storytelling workshop  Storytelling Model: Story of Self, Us, and Now (Inspired by Marshall Ganz & Institute for Change Leaders)An open dialogue and reflection space to discuss current issuesDevelop a short video concept with participants to encourage viewers to learn about the work of Al Rashid Mosque Instructure: Shawn Tse is a Filmmaker (BA Film & Video), Educator (MSocSc Psychology of Education) and community organizer based in amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton. His work is grounded in community engagement centred and informed by local ethnocultural groups. His past community work includes organizing/mentoring two "Film for the Future" video training camps for newcomer youth, leading a heritage arts project "Figure 一, 二, 三, 六, 八" honouring the history and cultural impacts of Edmonton's ever-changing Chinatown, and a selected mentor for John Humphrey's Centre for Human Rights, Justice 4 Reel 2018 & 2019. Currently, he has been working with a long-time teacher and community advocate, Wai-Ling Lennon and the Edmonton Chinese Television Society to facilitate 10 video  Workshop schedule:  10:00 am-12:00 pm: Workshop in telling the story of self, us and now. 12:00 pm-1:00 pm: Lunchbreak 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm: Developing our vision into film 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Planning and creating our film 5:00 pm -6:00 pm Check-in, reflection and next steps
