Working for kids - Coach Training

Oak Hill Boys Ranch in partnership with Alta Care Resources and  Discovering West Edmonton Early Years Coalition presents: Working for Kids- Coach Training  With, Dr. Judy Cameron, Ph.D.  Wednesday October 2nd  9:00am to 5:00pm @ The Orange Hub Edmonton(156 Street NW) Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Working For Kids: Building Skills, University of Pittsburgh  Dr. Cameron, a renowned neuroscientist and developer of the Brain Architecture Game, along with her University of Pittsburgh team, have created games to enhance early brain skills including social-emotional development, language skills, problem solving skills, as well as, games that enhance brain pathways developing in the teenage years for complex reasoning, decision making and self-regulation. This evidence-based training session is specifically designed for adults and professionals who work with adolescents.  The brain continues to develop new circuits through to 25 years of age, and the circuits that develop in adolescence and early adulthood are those governing planning, complex reasoning, decision-making, and inhibitory control. It is useful for all teens to learn how to strengthen these brain pathways, and this is particularly true for at-risk adolescents. Dr. Cameron will be providing coach training custom-designed for those who serve at-risk youth. Limited to 30 participants  Price is $390.00 per participant (Due to our arrangement with Dr. Cameron we are able to provide training valued at approximately $1200.00 for this reduced price) Commitment to this training will require pre-training involvement (about 4 hours of reading and studying) as the regular training commitment is 14 hours of workshop and we are condensing this training to 8 hours For further information regarding Dr. Cameron’s training programs visit www.workingforkids.com  or Contact Shannyn Rus; Discovering West Edmonton Coalition Coordinator discoveringwestcoalition@gmail.com Register by: September 16, 2019 Thank you to our sponsors:
